Debate-Watch-Party Announcement
Paid subscribers are invited to join a real-time conversation about the Vice Presidential debate on Tuesday night!
I hosted my first debate-watch party on June 27—and look how that turned out! I’m going to be doing it again this Tuesday for the Vice Presidential debate between Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance. Is it possible the outcome will be as momentous as what transpired three months ago? I doubt it—but you never know! Why not watch along with me and fellow subscribers to Notes from the Middleground? It’s bound to be a blast.
The debate (and the party) begins at 9PM ET on Tuesday, October 1 and runs for 90 minutes. (That’s right, this debate is only an hour and a half in length.) I’ll send out an email reminder to paid subscribers at around 8:50PM ET. And immediately thereafter, I’ll begin a new chat threat for the big event that you will be free to join at any time.
For those of you who are free subscribers but are interested in joining the party: Don’t forget to upgrade your subscription to paid and download the Substack app so you don’t miss the festivities! See the instructions below.
How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss the conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Thomas R. Marshall, who served as vice president from 1913 to 1921 under President Woodrow Wilson, said it best:
"Once there were two brothers. One ran away to sea; the other was elected Vice President of the United States. And nothing was heard of either of them again."

I was hoping you'd do one for the Harris-Trump debate. I'll be there for sure! 😊
