It’s been a long time since I’ve written something about Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza.

The main reason for my silence is that I’ve felt I have nothing new to offer. I staked out a position in the weeks following Hamas’ terrorist invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023, and nothing that’s happened since has fundamentally altered my assessment of the situation—until the past few weeks, that is. This recent shift in my view, as stories of starvation and hunger in Gaza have filled the news, is what’s led me to take up the topic again in this post.
