This will be a somewhat unusual week around here. On Wednesday, I’ll have my first guest author with an essay that will run in “Looking Left.” And then I’ll be back on Friday with my first “Above the Fray” post in a while.
In the meantime, you may want to listen to my hour-long conversation (“The New Dividing Lines”) with Robert Tracinski on his Symposium podcast here at Substack.
Then there’s Jason Wilson’s essay in the Guardian with the somewhat abstruse title “‘Red Caesarism’ Is Right-Wing Code—and Some Republicans are Listening.” Wilson interviewed me for the piece, and he quotes me a lot in it. So if you’re eager for your fix of “Eyes on the Right”-style analysis and fretting about the future, I suggest reading Wilson’s essay. You may also want to check out some of his past essays. He’s among the very best investigative journalists closely following the descent of the American right into political darkness.
That Red Caesar idea is throughly disturbing. I can probably skip my morning coffee now.
