Throwing towels into boxing rings before the fight?

Remember when professionals and fans predicted Sonny Liston was invincible?

In Iowa, a majority of registered Republicans voted against the 45th by staying at home. Only his Iowa cult turned out.

The indicted former 45th president is wounded. He is not invincible.

Nikki is trying. She is a woman with guts.

No, this is exactly right. Nobody can stop Trump at this point barring something incredibly dramatic and unforeseen. This isn't 1968 when a surprisingly weak finish in one primary will force Trump to withdraw like Lyndon Johnson did (LBJ, no matter what else you say of him, was a far more decent and wise man). Biden will not get knocked out, even if Dean Phillips has a surprising result in New Hampshire.

We have the matchup: let's just do what we can to elevate Biden, again, and keep Trump out of the White House.

Any thoughts on what appears to be a new "conventional wisdom" developing that the Iowa results and various polling points are showing some Trump weaknesses in the GOP that would translate into real problems in the general election? Or are writers looking to fill their next column and wonder what 49% of the Iowa caucus did not vote for Trump?

We MUST focus our blogs and words on organizing public opinion in favor of the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) enforcing Section 3 of 14th Amendment (3-14) and disqualifying the indicted 45th President for rebellion, insurrection and treason on January 6, 2021. PERIOD.

The indicted former 45th President’s fatal character flaw is assaulting women. He ‘gets off’ on assaulting women.

Now, he’s assaulting Nikki Haley.

“Well, not literally.”

No, Nikki Haley won't save us. But she may become the 5% backfill, the person the Party selects should Trump die, be convicted and plunging in the polls, disqualified, or show an even more disturbing cognitive spiral.

I think, though I'm not sure, that the Republican Party is not limited to the nominal running mate, they can pick who they want.

Normally this is not worth bothering abut, it is more like the 0.5% backfill. In this as in so many other ways Trump is different.
